woyww - book cards and fish

Very early post for woyww but I won't be able to link up until late so it will be a late post?
Here is my desk and other random stuff that spent some time on my desk this week.
Another attempt at book binding.
This time glueing the papers to the spine and  you can see it drying at the back of the desk.  I will probably leave it for a few days to dry fully.  While waiting I have started selecting papers to use as "Back endpapers" for the book.  It has been interesting learning all the terms for parts of a book.

I have also been making a few cards using the Altenew Poppy stamp. Purchased last year and only used once.  Fairly quick cards which I have embossed then painted with glimmermist and a few splashes.

Last week it was a wee pig and this week I have finished a fish from a picture in DH's fish magazine.  Nothing endearing about this little monster.
No connection between any of these projects except that I am trying really hard not to buy products!!!!  which has made me dig into the craft cupboard and use my stash.  But, it is so hard not to buy stuff online.  Truly, I have caught myself several times doing a google search for something I saw on a woyww's desk and nearly purchased it without a second thought.  At this rate I should have emptied the cupboard by mid year.
 Have a lovely woyww.

woyww - pig in paint

Sorry I can't show you a photo of my desk this week .... problems with my camera.  But what I have is one of the little pigs I painted last week.  Why?
Being on holidays means I try to paint different  subjects and I enjoyed painting chickens a few weeks back so I am broadening out to other farm animals.  I know totally random....Pinterest is to blame.
Here she is Miss Hen.
Hopefully my camera problems will be sorted by next week and I will do something normal.
Have a lovely woyww.

woyww - satisfying week

A productive week since last woyww.  I completed the book I started binding last week.  Even with just 3 signatures I still got a bit lost in the instructions and my coptic is a bit skewif.
Have to admire people who do very intricate binding.
Completed a card which I had originally embossed with the Altenew magnolia stamp on cream cardstock and it looked  a bit flat. A touch of Silks acrylic glaze was added and I am quite pleased with the result.  The Silks glaze blended smoothly with a cotton bud.
Finally, I finished a quilt started by my mother over a decade ago.   Quite satisfying to complete something she started but never got to finish.
Then the washing machine broke and the rest of my days have been about repairmen and cleaning the laundry in anticipation of the repairmen.
Have a lovely woyww week.

woyww - book binding attempt

Never thought I would be attempting to bind my own watercolour book.... but here on my desk you can see the first steps.  With the varying quality of watercolour sketch books and ridiculous prices I am prepared to give it a go.  Why you ask? Watching you tube at 11o'clock will give you a false sense of "I can do that!!".   Hopefully I can show a decent pic of the end product next week.
A little pic of our cat from the back. I won't be offended if you thought it was a slug the family have already made that comment.
Have a lovely woyww.
