woyww - touch ups

A birds eye view of my desk on this woyww.  I am adding some finishing touches to pages from my holiday sketchbook.  The sketchbook is almost complete and I am surprised that I was able to fill so many pages while out and about.  The next photo is the beginnings of a temple sketch with an enormous ficus growing through the walls and footpath.  Starting to work from photos as i finish the last couple of pages.

Next project will have to be Xmas cards and I will be turning to woyww desks for inspiration.

  1. Hi Sandra,
I'll look forward to seeing your journal IRL. Plenty of people on woyww have been doing Christmas cards for ages! Not me. I just started the other day :) Don't know if I'll have a chance to do woyww this week. Catch you soon,

  6. You paintings are really lovely, Sandra. I'm amazed you have such a small paint box, I'd have to have a huge one and then I'd still not get such lovely results!
Don't look at my desk for Xmas inspiration, it's not happening yet, although I tell a lie, I did make one card last night but it's buried somewhere amongst the chaos drying. I'm very last minute with xmas.
Hope you are having a good week
    Hugs Lisax

  7. Crafting on the go is something I've always aspired to and never managed. Your sketch book is lovely and such a great way to preserve the memories. Fab.

    Happy WOYWW!

  8. I love the aspect of the temple sketch, very clever the way you turned the book on its side and used the longer thinner shape. It's like a sideways panorama! You amaze me with your knack of really capturing something in a few brush strokes....that's a real talent!

  9. Lovely landscape! I've got a Moleskin the same format as yours, for exactly the same purpose, but I'm afraid to use it! I'm really inspired by Jacqueline Newbold's travel journals. One day, if/when I feel really brave, I might try painting outdoors too! Have a lovely week! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #42

  11. Lovely landscape, I, too, wish I dared to paint on the go. Your ficus has a wonderful start. A lot of artists work from photographs, keeps the light source in the same spot for a longer period of time....LOL
Thanks for visiting me this week.

  19. I love your pictures. You are great at watercolour. I'll have to keep coming back to look at your sketches to find out how to do it properly. I just can't seem to get the hang of it. I can't wait to see the temple finished. Have a great week.
